On November 18, US Ambassador Lisa Johnson officially launched the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs program in Namibia, aimed at providing women with the tools needed to create and grow their own businesses, raise capital, and effectively network with other successful business owners. Explaining that the Ambassador had met online with 28 very motivated Namibian women who have either just started or hoped to start businesses. US Embassy spokesperson Walter Parrs said the goal of the academy is to give women an in-depth and sophisticated training course and support with mentorship to help them launch new businesses.
