The most recent global nutrition report estimated that 17% of women and 7% of men in Africa are obese. And this is leading to major health issues, like heart and liver disease. The reports says the fact that more and more people are living in urban areas – and changing their lifestyles in the process – is partly to blame for a rise in cases. But, as the BBC reports, experts say this is not just about the food we’re eating. It’s also about the way some of us perceive our weight and the food we eat.
