Africa Road Safety Day globally known as the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is commemorated on the third Sunday of November each year. The ARSD is a high-profile global event that remembers millions who have been seriously injured or killed on the world’s roads. Sadly, over the past ten years, Namibia has lost 6 275 people to Road Crashes, many of whom were vulnerable road users. Many of those who are killed or injured on our roads are cyclists who are also regarded as vulnerable road users. With The Namibian Cycle Classic cycling event taking place on the 15th of November 2020 and coinciding with the ARSD on the third Sunday of November, the PSRSF has agreed with the Windhoek Rotary Club, as organizers of the event that Road Safety should feature strongly on the day.
