South African agricultural organisation TLU SA deplores what it calls the poor quality of the government’s impact study on expropriation without compensation. TLU SA president Henry Geldenhuys says the Public Works document forms the foundation on which government bases the costs and benefits of the Expropriation Act. Geldenhuys notes that the document refers to the input of only one agricultural organisation, Agri SA, purporting that it cautiously supports the amendments with some conditions. Agri SA spokesperson, Annelize Crosby, however denied this and said their opposition to certain aspects of the bill has been communicated repeatedly.
