The National Budget for 2021/22 allocates an amount of N$90 million to Agribank for credit advances to the agricultural sector, something the bank says indicates that there is policy appreciation for the pivotal role that agriculture, and those that work in the sector, plays in ensuring food security and economic resilience. Senior Research and Product Development Officer at Agribank of Namibia, Indileni Nanghonga says the current budget is hopeful, however, there is still a caveat for emerging and existing challenges so much work still needs to be done for positive growth in 2021.
