he ongoing debate about pit bulls has taken something of a strange turn in South Africa with a Free State ANC Youth League branch sparking controversy by launching a “One bullet, One pit bull” campaign. News24 says that in a poster announcing the campaign, the branch, encourages pit bull owners to surrender their dogs to the SPCA to promote free and safe communities, but suggests that if households with the breed fail to cooperate, neighbours should find “creative ways” of eliminating the dogs. A regional spokesperson however said the One bullet, One pit bull campaign was merely a slogan, and was meant to be taken figuratively.
