Members of the Affirmative Repositioning movement spent a night protesting in Eros near Chief Justice, Peter Shivute’s house, demanding to see him to receive their petition. The Namibia press agency reports that the protest which started on Saturday at 10h00 in Katutura, progressed to the Supreme Court in the central business district, where the movement was supposed to hand over the petition to Shivute. However, Shivute did not show up and instead delegated Deputy Director of Security in the Judiciary, Onesmus Shivolo to receive the petition on his behalf. Unhappy the movement then decided to proceed to Shivute’s house to hand over their petition where they spent the night, only leaving on Sunday morning at around 11 after JSC representative, Uno Katjipuka, received the petition. The group has given the JSC until 27 November 2020 to respond to the petition.
