the Namibian Police Force has arrested suspects in Windhoek and Katima Mulilo and confiscated various types of cookies that were confirmed through laboratory analysis to contain THC which is a component of cannabis. The Namibia Press Agency reports that a 23-year-old male suspect who was allegedly selling them in the streets of Windhoek on 13 June 2022 was arrested for possession. The police are now warning the general public to be vigilant as they come in different shapes like other biscuits on the market, as a result, this makes differentiating them difficult. It’s alleged that young people and high school learners are the prime target groups for the biscuits, therefore the youth, in particular, are urged to refrain from buying biscuits on the street. Police investigations into the matter continue.
