Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine filed a legal challenge in the country’s supreme court today seeking cancellation of the results of last month’s presidential election that handed victory to incumbent Yoweri Museveni. Bobi Wine, whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi, was said to have won 35 percent. Reuters reports that the filing showed the judiciary could be trusted to adjudicate over the dispute fairly, Museveni’s National Resistance Movement (NRM) party told Reuters news agency, adding the petition did not have much chance of succeeding.
