Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi says the tourism industry in Africa and around the world is under pressure as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, new technologies, and constantly evolving client expectations. The SABC reports that while opening the 5th Africa Tourism Leadership Forum in Gaborone on Tuesday morning Masisi said that “a new generation of tourists in emerging and the hospitality and tourism sector is undergoing a fundamental shift in the way it operates occasioned by changing global economies as well as government policies”. ​
