Nigerian Presidential spokesman, Mallam Garba Shehu, in an interview with the BBC, said that President Muhammadu Buhari had directed a clampdown on bandits who have refused to surrender and ordered security agencies to shoot anyone seen with an AK-47. AfricaNews reports that Shehu also said the Federal government had declared Zamfara province a no-fly zone following intelligence that arms are being transported to the bandits with private jets.
