Trade volumes between Namibia and Angola fall below the desired levels as compared to that between Namibia and other neighbouring countries, despite the two countries’ relations spanning over five-decades, says the Executive Director in the Ministry of Trade and Industrialisation, Sikongo Haihambo, insisting that the two countries need to pursue a more focused agenda that will increase trade and investment opportunities between them. Haihambo said the Ministry is constantly inundated with complaints from traders on challenges they encounter at Namibia’s main borders, but commended both the Angolan Investment and Export Promotion Agency and the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board for taking the initiative and exploring business and investment opportunities in the two countries.
