Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin will remain behind bars until he sentenced for the murder of George Floyd in approximately eight weeks. Chauvin was found guilty on charges of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and manslaughter. Judge Peter Cahill revoked Chauvin’s bail after the verdict and he faces prison time of between 12 and 40 years. The three other police officers facing charges in Floyd’s death are expected to be tried together in August.
