South African President Cyril Ramaphosa says there is no need yet for the reconstruction of field hospitals, highlighting that the country is better equipped to deal with the second wave of Covid-19 infections. Meanwhile the DA’s Health spokesperson in Gauteng, Jack Bloom, warns that the next two months could be difficult as the province is still heading for the peak of the second wave of Covid-19 infections. The Eastern Cape is believed to have peaked while cases in KwaZulu-Natal are still climbing and the Western Cape believes it could be over the worst. Bloom nevertheless finds it worrying that the Western Cape is using double the amount of oxygen it did during the peak of the first wave.
