Namibia’s cosmetics industry has grown considerably and 34 businesses currently export cosmetics products, Minister of Industrialisation and Trade Lucia Iipumbu has said. Iipumbu in a recent interview with the Namibia press agency noted that steady growth has been experienced, especially in the export of ingredients and health and beauty end-products, with exports increasing from N$ 60 million in 2016 to over N$ 100 million in 2019. Iipumbu last week told Parliament the Ministry, although slowly, recorded progress in other sectors and will continue to capacitate and assist local businesses to not only produce goods for local consumption, but also to export these goods, pointing out specifically the charcoal industry.
