The Democratic Republic of Congo has ordered the expulsion of the spokesperson of the UN peacekeeping mission for reportedly making an inappropriate statement that sparked deadly protests in the country’s east. The Congolese Foreign Minister asked the UN mission to ensure that Mathias Gillmann leaves the country as soon as possible.
