Electoral Commission of Namibia Communications and Marketing Manager, Lina Ndengu says this year’s regional and local authority elections will be different from others because the political sphere in the country has changed. In an interview with the Namibia press agency Ndengu said she felt it will be a very interesting election not just for the candidates but also for the voters, because these elections are where they need to make sure that they vote for the right candidates as these are the people that will provide services to them. She added that Namibians have now matured politically, they know the law and they know that they are in a democratic country which allows them to be involved in decision making processes, which is a good thing especially for young people who have now started to get involved in politics, unlike in the past when they were not even willing to vote.
