The 2018 Comprehensive Gender-Based Violence study has revealed that emotional violence is the most predominant form of violence in the Southern African Development Community. This as 26.8 per cent of respondents reported having been emotionally abused, while 11.2 per cent of correspondents experienced physical violence and 12 per cent sexual violence. The study also found that 33 per cent of ever-partnered women aged 15-49 years experienced intimate partner physical and/or sexual violence at least once in their lifetime.
