European Union leaders are meeting in Brussels for a two-day summit which is likely to be overshadowed by the bloc’s failure to agree on plans to ban Russian oil imports. During the two-day talks, EU leaders will also mull fresh support for Ukraine amid Moscow’s ongoing attacks. In an update, CNN reports that the embargo will cover more than two-thirds of oil imports from Russia, which covers all seaborne oil from Russia. European Union diplomats failed to reach consensus Sunday on the terms of the embargo but held further talks Monday in a bid to present a deal for approval by EU leaders at a summit later.
