The European Union supported Namibia with N$ 172 million in 2020 to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, EU Ambassador to Namibia Sinikka Antila has said. Antila said the assistance was to strengthen Namibia’s health system, enhance resilience and create responsive health and social protection systems. She said the funding assisted with the purchasing of medical equipment and devices that were urgently required, as well as to address some of the economic and social impacts of the pandemic.
