The European Union says drone strikes in a major city in Tigray endanger “a very fragile hope” for peace in Ethiopia. The BBC reports that the EU urged warring parties to waste no time to end the violence and arrange a permanent ceasefire. But it also said that the role of Ethiopia’s northern neighbour, Eritrea, continues to impede peace efforts.
