Hydrological Services Namibia has advised communities living in flood-prone areas around the country to be on high alert for possible floods and to take necessary precautions. HSN said that the Zambezi River maintains its steady rise and recorded 5.05 meters, while the Kavango River level has increased from 5.74m to 5.88m since last Friday, recording a higher river level compared to last year. While the level of the Fish River has decreased to 0.38 meters, the lower Orange River recorded 2.30m with a flow of 966.2m3, and the flow in the Kunene River increased to 249.4m3 . The bulletin also shows that the water levels in some central Cuvelai areas are increasing, rising by 9cm due to localised rain received over the past weekend and recording 0.47m on Monday.
