The World Food Programme in Ethiopia says, by Friday last week, an estimated 200 000 people in parts of Amhara had received food aid since the mini-truce was put in place. News24 reports that during the same week, convoys loaded with 2 600 metric tons of relief and nutritious foods were prepared and ready to be dispatched to Tigray and Afar. They were only waiting for security clearance. This after Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International last week released a report detailing ethnic atrocities in northern Ethiopia which the Ethiopian government called sensationalist.
