President Hage Geingob, speaking during the official opening of Cabinet for 2021, said that if Cabinet ministers do not adopt a progressive approach in executing their duties, Namibia will not overcome its challenges, especially those brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Namibia press agency reports that Geingob added that the economic, social, and environmental future of the country rests on its ability to place people at the centre of decision-making and called on the prime minister, deputy prime minister and cabinet ministers to regularly engage with different stakeholders such as traditional authorities, faith-based organisations, businesses, academia, the media, and the youth, to identify effective solutions to implementing projects and programmes.
