Following the incident where three Namibian fishermen were shot dead by Botswana Defence Force soldiers for alleged illegal fishing in the river that borders Namibia and Botswana, President Hage Geingob held a meeting at Statehouse with the family of the deceased fisherman. At the meeting, attended by the Vice President, the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister, and line ministers, Geingob informed the family that the Government took the incident in a serious light and that relevant agencies have been mobilized to shed light with regard to the unfortunate incident. Future Media News spoke to Press Secretary Dr Alfredo Hengari who said a joint investigation into the shooting of the fishermen along the Chobe river will be carried out.
