Google has announced that it will be committing $25 million towards the empowerment of women and girls across Africa. The company’s newly announced Impact Challenge for Women and Girls grants will be awarded to non-profit organizations and social enterprises across Africa that are seen as creating pathways to prosperity for women and girls. Applications are open until midnight on Friday, 2 April 2021 and selection will presided over by an all-female panel of experts including Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, the Executive Director of UN Women, and former first lady of both South Africa and Mozambique, Graça Machel.
