Executive Director in the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform, Percy Misika, says that government, through his Ministry, has implemented a number of programmes to nullify the effects of the veterinary cordon fence. Misika, pointing out that the ministry is continuing to intensify the livestock vaccination campaign in order to boost the immunity of livestock in the northern communal areas, said “it is not a question of whether the government will remove the veterinary cordon fence or not, it will be removed.” During the same discussion, the president of the Namibia National Farmers Union, Jason Emvula, said it is time for the government to offer farmers on both sides of the line equal opportunities.
