Government has spent N$ 6 billion in the 2020/21 financial year on social grants aimed at supporting vulnerable and unemployed Namibians. This, the Namibia Press Agency reports, was said by President Hage Geingob while delivering the State of the Nation Address in the National Assembly yesterday. Geingob highlighted that amongst others, government spent N$ 3 billion on the old age social grant and N$ 1.5 billion on orphans and vulnerable children, while N$ 70 million was spent on the Food Bank, just to name a few.
