The Namibia Statistics Agency’s government wage index report shows that during the fourth quarter of 2021, the government’s wage bill stood at N$ 6.3 billion relative to 6.2 billion in the corresponding quarter with the state having employed 108,875 officials as of 31st December. 61.8 Percent of employees were from Public Administration, 28 percent from the Education sector, and 10.2 percent of employees from the Health sector. The index is made up of central government wages only.
