Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr. Kalumbi Shangula says that while the government is trying to shy away from another lockdown, they may be forced to introduce stricter measures as the country’s COVID-19 situation worsens, with deaths nearing the 1 000 mark. The Namibia press agency reports that responding to questions in Parliament, Shangula said that while the current measures are set to lapse at the end of the month, his team is analysing the situation, reviewing the measures, and will see whether it is prudent to intervene prior to that.
