The Namibia National Students Organisation over the weekend held their General Students Council in Swakopmund under the theme “Redeem Uplift Empower”. The change in the curriculum and the exit strategy for grade 11’s was top on the agenda because, there is still much debate on whether grade 11 learners are indeed ready for university and by extension, what happens to learners who do not make it to grade 12 and to university. According to Nanso’s spokesperson, Dylan Mukoroli, this is very worrisome for the organisation, as it raises questions about school drop-out rates, which are very high in Namibia.
