Speaking during a press conference in preparation of Namibia’s commemoration of World Water and World Wetlands Day, which Namibia will commemorate on 25 and 26 March, heads of entities responsible for ensuring its availability urged the nation to value water and take note of its importance and scarcity in the country. The Namibia press agency quotes the Director of Water Resource Management in the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform, Maria Amakali, as saying that we should learn how to value the little water that we have, while FNCC Director Julien Dal Bosco made reference to the UN global theme, saying valuing water is not about the cost of water but rather about how it impacts everybody’s life and how water is something that should be cherished.
