Speaker of the National Assembly Peter Katjavivi has warned he will chase out unruly parliamentarians disrupting proceedings as such behaviour seriously threatens the integrity and the decorum of parliament. “For too long, we have observed some Members choosing the floor of this House to insult each other, calling each other all sorts of names and even to an extent of threatening each other physically,” the Namibia press agency quotes Katjavivi as saying. This he made clear, will no longer be tolerated and any members not observing the rules and orders of the National Assembly will be asked to leave the chamber.
