The Kunene Regional Council has been thrown into panic mode following allegations of falsification of procurement documents and official signatures related to the awarding of medical tenders in the region. According to the Namibia press agency “a faceless individual by the name of ‘Moses Kamati’ issued a request for an informal quotation worth just over N$ 800 000 for medical patient monitors for the Opuwo District Hospital. Kamati, who is listed as ‘secretary for procurement chain supply’, reportedly went even further and forged the signature of the council’s chief regional officer promising his potential victim that payment will be effected by the council within 30 days after delivery of the goods.
