The Namibia Equal Rights Movement on Monday called on newly appointed Home Affairs Minister, Albert Kawana to rescind state sanctioned homophobia. The Namibian newspaper quotes a representative of the movement, Omar van Reenen as saying, “Treat all Namibians equally before the law, as the Namibian constitution mandates. Regardless of the colour of your skin or who you love“. The call follows the refusal by the High court to issue Phillip Lühl emergency travel documents so that he can bring home his twin daughters from South Africa where they were born via surrogate. The authorities say Phillip Lühl must show genetic proof that he is their father before they can travel.
