Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, says that the British capital’s streets are ‘not safe for women or for girls’ and has called for action to be taken to ensure that women and girls feel safer when alone in public. This, FSN reports, after 33-year-old Sarah Everard disappeared in Southeast London as she walked home on the evening of March 3rd. Police investigators say that human remains were discovered in a wooded area near Kent but could not be identified while a serving Metropolitan Police officer has been arrested on suspicion of murder and kidnapping in connection with her disappearance.
