In an update: Suspended ANC Secretary-General Magashule claims that South African President Cyril Ramaphosa influenced ‘sinister’ corruption charges against him. News24 reports that representing Magashule in court today, advocate Laurence Hodes characterised the case as “politically motivated and unsustainable”. He urged the court not to “condone” the charges and instead dismiss them, adding that the timing of the arrest and prosecution was “extremely sinister”.
