Management of the Mandela House Museum in Soweto, Gauteng, has announced that the tourist site is due to be liquidated and the assets sold to pay off debtors. Newsflash reports that the house in Vilakazi Street in Orlando West was left by late president Nelson Mandela to the Soweto Heritage Trust. Workers at the museum say they were unaware that the liquidation was being done to pay off debts incurred by the trust. The interim trustees, however, have promised to provide more clarity on the matter by the end of this week.
