Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi, during his one-day work visit to Namibia, said the report from the joint investigations into the shooting incident of three Namibian brothers and their Zambian cousin by the Botswana Defence Force in November last year is receiving attention at the courts in that country. “There are judicial processes that still need to be followed so the matter is sub judice and I would advise strongly that the report not be made public until authorised by a competent court,” Masisi said while affirming that his country will ensure that due legal processes are followed, as usually done when lives are lost in their country. Masisi further insisted that his country does not have a ‘shoot to kill policy’ nor is their defence force ‘trigger happy’.
