This year’s Reporters Without Borders’ Press Freedom Index, which evaluates press freedom in 180 countries and territories annually, shows that journalism, which is arguably the best vaccine against the virus of disinformation, is totally blocked or seriously impeded in 73 countries and constrained in 59 others. Namibia has retained its top position in Africa and 24th in the world on the Index. Cabo Verde (27) and Ghana (30) occupy second and third places in Africa. Norway, Finland and Sweden are the top-ranked countries in the world.
