Executive Director in the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment Creation, Bro-Matthew Shinguadja, in response to allegations made by the Namibia Security Guards and Watchmen’s Union, insisted that payments by the ministry to security service providers are up-to-date and none of the security companies are owed anything. NASGWU Secretary General, Andreas Haufiku said that he had a meeting with the affected parties two weeks ago and that at that stage the invoices, some of which stem from as far back as November 2020, had still not been settled. Shinguadja admitted that there was a delay with the January 2021 payment due to invoice verification but refuted all other allegations of non-payment.
