The 2019 National Leopard Project by Ecological Consultant at LRC Wildlife Conservation, Dr Louisa Richmond-Coggan, which was undertaken to establish a population estimate for leopards in Namibia, has revealed that at a “best guess” there are 11,733 leopards in Namibia with their numbers having increased by 16% near Omaruru and by 40% near Windhoek, while they have declined by 38% near the Namib-Naukluft.
