Namibia Equal Rights movements co-founder, Omar Van Reenen called out the Namibian Government for oppressing and marginalizing the LGBTQ community. A panel of activists from different organizations joined Omar in Windhoek on Thursday, to call for the implementation of fair Namibian laws allowing South African-born twins Paula and Maya Delgado-Lühl, who have been denied Namibian citizenship by descent, to come home and be granted full Namibian citizenship upon arrival. Omar displayed his heartfelt disapproval of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Securities’ discrimination against what he termed ” the incompetence” of the Namibian Government to cater to the LGBTQ+ community.
