The Namibian government has condemned the possible evictions of Palestinian families and violence exercised by Israeli police during the past days against Palestinian demonstrators. Executive Director in the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation Penda Naanda in a media statement further condemned the storming of the al-Aqsa Mosque, where peaceful worshippers were assaulted. The Namibia Press Agency quotes Naanda as saying, “The Government of Namibia notes with grave concern the rising tensions in east Jerusalem over the possible eviction of Palestinian families living in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood. Namibia also expresses its solidarity with Palestinian people and calls on the Israeli forces to end the violent acts against the Palestinians”.
