Namibia’s cattle can now be exported to South Africa following the lifting of the movement ban that was imposed on live cattle for the control of Foot and Mouth Disease outbreaks in SA. The Directorate of Veterinary Services says all trucks transporting cloven-hoofed animals should be registered with DVS, and trucks must be cleaned and disinfected by accredited South African Veterinary authorities before returning to Namibia.
