Namibia entered the coronavirus pandemic already battered and bruised after a challenging few years. In 2019, the country had the fourth lowest growth level in sub-Saharan Africa (45 countries). Future Media News spoke to Cirrus Capital economist Rowland Brown, who says for post-Covid-19 recovery, we need to address pre-COVID macroeconomic issues as well as Covid-19 related issues. Brown expands that local investment and the ‘ease of doing business’ should be promoted. He added that the local economy could take up to five years to fully recover.
