World Malaria Day is celebrated today under the theme, “Harness innovation to reduce the malaria disease burden and save lives”, Despite steady advances in lowering the global burden of malaria between 2000 and 2015, progress has slowed in recent years, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa. In light of this we contacted Dr Richard Kamwi, the Africa CDC Champion and Ambassador of the Elimination 8 Initiative aimed at eliminating malaria in southern Africa by 2030, to find out how Namibia is doing in this regard.
