The Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform announced that no live animals or meat products are allowed to cross any border from South Africa into Namibia due to the serious Foot-and-Mouth Disease outbreak in South Africa. According to the ministry’s Directorate of Veterinary Services, the outbreak could have a catastrophic effect on the country’s FMD Free Zone.
