The Bank of Namibia and Banco Nacional de Angola have agreed to collaborate on, among other things, promoting effective, modernised, and digitally enabled payment methods between the two countries, improving trade-friendly exchange control regimes, and protecting the stability and integrity of their respective financial systems. While emphasising that the renewed cooperation between the two central banks will facilitate trade and contribute toward economic recovery in the two countries, the Bank of Namibia also reaffirmed collaboration on emerging topics such as digital currencies, particularly central bank digital currencies and crypto assets, to better understand these developments’ impact on monetary and financial stability.
