The National Assembly has dismissed social media posts that Speaker Peter Katjavivi on Tuesday abruptly adjourned the parliamentary session. The Namibia Press Agency reports that the National Assembly’s clarification comes after some media houses reported on their media platforms on Tuesday that the speaker had adjourned the session abruptly. A media statement issued by the National Assembly on Wednesday said the speaker adjourned the session for a tea break, a normal parliamentary procedure. The statement further noted that for some media houses to twist facts is “false reporting.”
